About Lynn
Grief touches every life in different ways. Whether through the death of a loved one, a friend or relative, or beloved pet, grief can feel isolating and overwhelming.
Lynn Muir brings both professional experience and a deep personal understanding to her work as a certified grief educator and coach.
A Registered Nurse and healthcare leader for more than 35 years, Lynn spent her career supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most vulnerable moments before dedicating her work to grief education and support.
Having experienced the profound losses of her parents, her brother, and beloved pets, she understands firsthand how grief reshapes life. She knows the quiet weight of absence, the unexpected waves of emotion, and the tenderness required to move forward while still honouring love. These experiences inform her compassionate, grounded approach. Lynn offers a calm and supportive space where individuals can speak openly about their loss — without pressure, timelines, or expectations. She believes there is no “right” way to grieve and no hierarchy of loss. The death of a parent, sibling, spouse, child, friend, or cherished animal companion all carry deep meaning and deserve to be honoured.

Lynn is especially committed to supporting those experiencing disenfranchised grief — losses that may not always be fully recognized or validated by others. This can include the loss of a sibling, a close friend, or a beloved pet. When grief is minimized or misunderstood, it can feel even more isolating. Lynn recognizes that companion animals are family, confidants, and sources of unconditional love, and that these bonds are real and significant. She provides validation, understanding, and practical guidance so individuals feel seen and supported in the full depth of their loss.

Grief Coaching
Lynn offers grief coaching rather than counseling. While counseling often focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions or working through past trauma in a clinical setting, grief coaching is forward-focused and supportive in nature.
Coaching provides guidance, education, practical tools, and compassionate
accountability as individuals learn how to navigate life after loss.
It is not therapy, but rather a collaborative process that supports growth, resilience, and meaning-making.
Grief coaching is not a substitute for mental health counseling, psychotherapy, or medical care. Individuals experiencing complex mental health concerns are encouraged to seek support from a licensed healthcare professional.
Lynn’s Approach
Through small group support, workshops, and educational conversations, Lynn helps individuals integrate loss into their lives with dignity, compassion, and hope. Her work centers on gentle guidance, meaningful reflection, and the belief that healing is not about “moving on,” but learning how to carry love forward.
